Comic Book Review - Excalibur #1-2

Inspired by a recent drawing I was working on, I decided to pick up and start reading the issues of the classic and great Excalibur, starting with #1 and including some assorted related titles too. As they're really too brief to justify a full post for each, I'll likely review them in storyline chunks or groups of issues. Enjoy!

 EXCALIBUR
Volume One, Issue #1-2
Warwolves Of London!
Written by Chris Claremont
Art by Alan Davis & Paul Neary
1988, 32 pages each

Re: The newly formed team of Excalibur - Captain Britain, Meggan, Nightcrawler, Phoenix and Shadowcat begin to adjust to their new lifestyle - a superhero team in London. Meanwhile, strange silver wolf-shaped things roam the streets, stealing people's skins and looking for Phoenix.

Outstanding: The art, naturally. There's some good humor. I love the location of London for a superhero comic.

Unacceptable: The colors are a bit muddy

Summary: I loved this comic when I was younger, it was the ultimate series for me. (The fact that I had a comic-crush on Kitty may have had something to do with it...) It's lost a little bit over time - some of the story is a bit confusing because I don't remember what prompted the forming of the team and some of the storytelling itself is a little clunky, but I still really enjoyed it.
